“We are not in Kansas any more, Toto”, we've moved on to Colorado. For some reason this seems like a huge accomplishment. It still is not even half way but just reaching Colorado is unbelievable. I thought the western part of Kansas was desolate, Colorado is more bleak, dry as a bone and not a single tree or structure in sight..
We played leap frog with Nick, Stuart and Joe all day. Stuart experienced three flats and Kelly had her first flat of the trip. Texas tacks are what they call the large thorns which blow onto the roads and cause havoc with cyclists.
We are spending the night in the Sheridan Lake Memorial Church, in Sheridan Lake, CO population 66. Joe from Syracuse and Jim, a new cycling friend from Scotland are staying in the church as well. Nick and Stuart continued on for another 30 miles.

Jim, It never ceases to amaze me. I read your blog and then check out your location on Google maps and am amazed at the distance you guys have traveled. I love the anecdotes and observations of your surroundings. Be safe.
